You've probably noticed this, through smell, taste, even the feel of your water. A drinking water system will take the chlorine out of the water you drink, but what about your showers and baths? Our bodies absorb a large amount of water (and whatever that water holds) through the pores of our skin every time we shower - which means you're taking chlorine into your body in more ways than one! So we want to remove this from your water altogether. That's where the Kinetico Dechlorinator comes in...

The Kinetico Dechlorinator is a large, single tank system that uses a granulated active carbon (GAC) media bed to absorb the chlorine, chloramines, and THMs from the water.  If the primary disinfectant is regular free chlorine, than coconut-shell GAC is the best choice.  If chloramines are the dominant disinfectant, then a special grade of Catalytic Activated Carbon is the best media choice.  Regular GAC is not as effective on chloramines as catalytic carbon. [The Mach Series backwashing filter system can also be charged with GAC to act as a non-electric, metered, backwashing carbon system for removing chlorine.]
